Grinch Fudge for the Night Before Christmas
Your kids will enjoy this Grinch Fudge for the Night Before Christmas. Or really any time they want to feel like they are celebrating NOT being a Grinch. One of my best memories as a kid was watching Dr. Seuss’s “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”. Honestly, Cinny Lou Who was my most favorite character.

Grinch History
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a story for children by “Dr. Seuss” . This was written in rhymed verse with pictures by Dr. Seuss. It follows the Grinch, a grumpy, hermit type creature who attempts to end the Christmas holiday by taking Christmas-themed decorations from the homes of the nearby town called Whoville on the eve of Christmas. Amazingly the Grinch sees that Christmas may not all be about presents and money.
Published as a book by Random House in 1957, and at approximately the same time in Redbook, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The book chastises the commercialization of Christmas and the Christmas holiday.
The book has been adapted as a 1966 animated TV film narrated by Boris Karloff. He also provided the Grinch’s voice in that production, a 2000 live-action feature film starring Jim Carrey, a 2018 computer-animated film starring Benedict Cumberbatch, a 1994 musical, and a 2020 live television adaptation of the musical starring Matthew Morrison.
Jones was interested in adopting one of Geisel’s books into a television special and went to him to turn How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Into one just in time for the Christmas season.
Geisel was initially reluctant due to his unpleasant experiences making the film The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T., he eventually agreed. How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was produced by The Cat in the Hat Productions in association with the television and animation divisions of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, where Jones was under contract at the time. From the surprise success of A Charlie Brown Christmas a year before, CBS gave Jones as well as MGM a $315,000 budget. (around $2,465,000 in 2018), more than four times what Bill Melendez was offered to produce A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Grinch Fudge for the Night Before Christmas
Ingredients
- 3 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 -15 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 3-5 drops of leaf green gel food coloring
- 1 ½ cup Sprinkle pop holiday sprinkles
- 1 9 x13 baking dish
- Wax paper
Instructions
- Spray the 9x13 baking dish with pam spray and cover it with wax paper, lightly spray the wax paper as well.
- Using a medium pot, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and green food coloring.
- Place the pot over medium to high heat and bring to a simmer.
- Pour the white chocolate chips into a heat-safe bowl.
- Once the milk is simmering, pour over the chocolate chips and let sit for 1 minute.
- Quickly whisk the chocolate chips and milk together until combined and smooth.
- Scoop the fudge into the baking dish and cover the top with the sprinkles.
- Allow to cool and harden on the counter overnight before cutting into squares
- Enjoy!
